About Us

"The necessity of The Milne Inspiration Center (The MIC) was born in the belief that youth of New Orleans and the Africa Diaspora should be given intentional opportunities to become contributors to society through an innovative variety of pathways of engagement. I believe it will take tremendous, intentional community collaboration to ensure the success of youth and I want to do my part."

The Movement

The MIC Seeks to engage youth and community as generational poverty cycle breakers to serve as innovative generational wealth builders through leadership and social entrepreneurship.

The Milne Inspiration Center is a safe space that cultivates the voice, vision and development of young leaders to reach their purpose filled futures.

The Milne Inspiration Center increases opportunities and resources to decrease unproductive behaviors that often lead youth to crime and prevent them from reaching their full potential.

"Throughout my youth, I attended Youth Camp through our church (faith/health & wellness), Teen Institute (passion/leadership development), Girls State (civic engagement), Upward Bound Resident Assistant (education) and studied abroad in Ocho Ricos Jamaica (global/cultural connection & social enterprise). The culmination of these experiences has afforded me a rich view of leadership development and a holistic perspective of youth leadership development. These opportunities shaped my confidence, strength and my ability to lead. The impact of these experience is a constant reminder, to whom much is given, much is required."

"The skills obtained from those experiences helped shape my vision for our 5 pathways of engagement. My deep passion for the youth of New Orleans and the Africa Diaspora is rooted in the gratitude for the supports, mentors, elders, and communities that made sure I had the necessary tools take on the world.  In turn, will always strive to be the inspiration for this generation and beyond." - Le'Kedra Robertson
